Gramado Film Festival has 1.100 films registered

The organization of Gramado Film Festival, one of the most prestigious cinematographic events in Brazil, announces that its 52nd edition registered 1.100 films registered. The numbers represent a 7% increase in films submitted for the Brazilian Short Films (CMB), Gaúchos Short Films (CMG), Brazilian Feature Films (LMB), Documentary Feature Films (LMD) and Gaúchos Feature Films exhibitions.

In total, there are 1,100 films registered: 114 Brazilian feature films, 158 documentary feature films, 679 Brazilian short films, 120 Gaúchos short films and 29 Gaúchos feature films that will participate in the selection. In the historical series, calculated since 2012, the numbers place the edition as the second with the highest number of registered productions.

A significant highlight within this set is the number of films from Rio Grande do Sul, both short and feature films. With a total of 149 registrations, filmmakers from Rio Grande do Sul demonstrate their strong presence and active participation in the festival. This number represents the highest rate in the historical series of the event in times of floods in the state, showing that, even in the face of challenges and adversities, local film production continues to be vibrant.

The organization celebrates the positive results and thanks the organizers for their trust in the event, even in a challenging scenario for producers in Rio Grande do Sul. “We know that this is a difficult time for the audiovisual chain, especially cultural professionals in Rio Grande do Sul. Having received this number of registrations at such a difficult time reinforces our commitment to the sector and gives us the confidence to carry out another Festival. We want to thank all the directors who entrusted their films to Gramado”, comments the President of Gramadotur, Rosa Helena Volk.

Productions from 25 states and the Federal District are among those registered. São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia are the states that concentrate the largest number of productions.

The 52nd edition of the Gramado Film Festival will take place between the 9th and 17th of August.
