Gramado Film Festival reaffirms dates for its 52nd edition

The organization of the Gramado Film Festival confirms the 52nd edition of the most important cinematographic event in Brazil. As announced, the event will keep its dates unchanged, taking place between the 9th and 17th of August.

Maintaining its history of resilience and resistance, Gramado will once again host feature and short film competitions, with emphasis on cinema made in Rio Grande do Sul. “It is a delicate moment for our State. More than that, for all cultural professionals. We know that the Gramado Festival will be the first major event in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and we are working hard to enable this resumption, with a special focus on the audiovisual workers affected by the tragedy”, says Rosa Helena Volk, president of Gramadotur, the municipal authority responsible for the Gramado events. city.

The 52nd edition of the Gramado Festival will maintain the traditional competitive exhibitions of Brazilian, documentary and Gaúchos feature films, as well as Brazilian and Gaúchos short films. The event will also feature parallel exhibitions: accessible, children’s, neighborhood cinema and hors concours exhibitions. The honors with the Oscarito, Eduardo Abelin, Kikito de Cristal and Cidade de Gramado trophies are maintained.

“We are following the calendar stipulated at the end of the previous edition. The curators and selection committees have already been chosen and are working, watching the submitted films. On May 26th, registration for short and feature films from Rio Grande do Sul ends and, from that moment on, we will have all teams working to select the films. We are going to hold another beautiful festival”, highlights Volk.

Held by Gramadotur, the tourism and culture authority in the municipality of Gramado, the Festival has supported the city hall’s actions to help the local population affected by the rains, mainly in the rural area of ​​the city.
